Dhenkanal
Sugar plant is the first modern factory, commenced in 1994, in the
state of Orissa, India, with 1500 tonnes of sugarcane crush per day. It
benefits 7,000 farmers, 475 employees and provides indirect employment
to over 5,000 people. There was not much of cane cultivation in Orissa
state. Therefore, the company has taken the herculean task of developing
the sugarcane in the mill's command area. Sakthi has established 4-lift
irrigation projects, along the perennial rivers Mahanadhi and Brahmanadi
for sugarcane cultivation covering an area of over 500 hectares. |
